Defence Force vs Club Sando Round 2

Defense Force vs Club Sando Round 2

On Saturday we faced Club Sando in Round 2 of the league at home on the Trinity East College ground. First team up as usual was the U-14. During the first half, play was even, but with more goal scoring chances in our favour. This statistic however does not count. Goals are what counts and Club Sando although with fewer chances scored twice, through Teshorn Ragoo 7th minute and Kerdeem Christopher 32nd minute, with Defense Force not hitting the net. The second half seemed to be a replica of the first, with Defense Force missing chance after chance. Club Sando had limited opportunities. We would rue our missed chances, as our only goal was scored in the 70th minute by none other than Justin Araujo- Wilson. Other players have to step forward, when Justin does not score, it seems that the team does not score. Final score Defence Force 1 Club Sando 2.

In game 2, which was the under 16 team played at 2.00pm, we scored early through Jakeem Mc Neil in the 8th minute. Club Sando were fast to the ball and aggressive in defense as well as attack. This paid dividends for them as they equalized through Dillon Yearwood (10th minute) immediately. Both teams went into the break with the score at 1-1, but with Club Sando definitely, if it were boxing, winning on points. Club Sando were the first to draw blood early in the second half with a goal from Dillon Yearwood (44th minute), four minutes into the half. This half was very even with Defense Force now matching Club Sando stride for stride, but just could not find the equalizer. As faith would have it, it was not to be our afternoon as Keston Archibald put the icing on their cake by placing the game out of our reach by scoring goal number 3 in the 76th minute. Final score Defence Force 1 Club Sando 3.

Our U18/Reserves entered their game very confident after their big win the previous week. They scored as early as the 12th minute through Kevaughn John and really had this game under control throughout. Club Sando did not have many looks at our goal and whatever was thrown at us our custodian, Timothy Brooks, dealt with efficiently. The first half ended 1-0. The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Defence Force dominating and controlling the game. A second goal was conjured up the 76th minute with Kevaughn recording a brace. Final Score Defence Force 2 Club Sando.
