Club Sando Round 1 Match Day 7

U13

The first half was dominated by the Defense Force. Darion Marfan (2’) scored the go ahead goal, but many chances were squandered thereafter. This placed the team in a precarious position, as it left Club Sando knowing that they were still in the game. The second half continued along the same trend, we muffing our chances and Club Sando breaking away every now and then. It all began to go awry, when on a counter attack Club Sando scored through Kaylon Ayers (41’) and then another through Anthony Williams (67’). Lo and behold we failed to score again and came away losing 1-2. Goals win matches

U15

The U15 team was the shining light on this hot afternoon. Playing some good football for the first half of this season, it continued along this trend. At half time the score was Defense Force 2 Club Sando 0. Goals were scored by Nicholas Smith (32’) and Marc Wharfe (39’). During the second half a further goal was added by Aidan Marcano (80’), which made the score 3-0 and so it ended. Defense Force 3 Club Sando 0. Another clinical performance, even without their talisman Justin Araujo-Wilson, who because of National U-15 commitment was unavailable for selection.

U17

We thought that a turn-around was beginning for our U17 team, who haven’t won a game as yet, when Alexi George (7’) found the net with a well taken goal. This was not to be as Club Sando came from behind to score through Dillon Yearwood (22’), Ronaldo McIntosh (67’) and Isa Bramble (88’) to win the game 1-3. Another disappointing evening, I am sure, for the boys, but hopefully this toughens them and make them want to work harder and improve on these results in the second round of competition.
