A Morning of Good Football

On Saturday 19th November a few of our age group teams, U6- U10, visited the home of the Queen’s Park Club Football (QPCC) youth section, at St Joseph Convent ground in Federation Park, P.O.S. and Queen’s Park had their U12 and U14, come to the Queen’s Park Savannah (QPS) to challenge our teams in those age groups. Also at that same time of the morning, we invited Trendsetter Hawks to the QPS to match skills with our other U8 and U10 teams that did not play versus QPCC.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was up in all its glory. Parents did not have to worry about the rain; therefore it was wonderful to see many of them present from all the clubs, supporting their children, other team members and their club. This augurs well for the future of the game, as most of these parents realize that winning is not what it is all about at this age. It is about the children enjoying themselves, having fun playing and competing in a sport that they love.

All of the games were competitive. The children played hard, gave it their all and ran their hearts out for their teams and coaches. What else can a coach ask for from such young players? Nothing!

The morning turned out beautiful, good football from the young charges at both locations and strong parental support. In the New Year we look forward to more wonderful and exhilarating competition such as what we had today.
