In match # 2 our opponents were Rosedale Rockets FC. The game was played on field #70 at Randall’s Island at 12.40pm, the heat was on. The game started at a very high tempo with both teams battling for supremacy, especially in midfield. Gradually, we started to gain control, although we had some weary legs on the field. Some of the guys definitely seemed a bit jaded from the day before, but the spirit was great. Again, we dominated possession, but with no end result. Rosedale, against the run of play, attacked down our right flank and somehow their striker dribbled the defender on the goal line and squeezed the ball in on the first post. The ball struck the first post, then hit the far post and nestled in the back of the net.

In the second half we still pressed as both teams dropped the tempo of the game. We had a couple of chances which we squandered and we actually hit the net, but it was disallowed, because the linesman called offside, a close one. Changes were made throughout by both teams, but the score line remained the same at the final whistle, Rosedale Rockets FC 1 SKHY FC 0.
