SKHY FC Move to 2nd With Draw

Red Hill v Skhy FC 2

SKHY playing in its third game of the 2015/2016 season were held to a goalless draw by Red Hill FC. The game was played at SKHY’s home ground, Henry Street, Trincity on Sunday. The game started with Red Hill kicking from North to South for the first half. Both teams had even exchanges for the half with no team really threatening the others goal. This half was not one which you will say was pleasant on the eye. None of teams kept the ball and tried to put it on the ground and move it around. This first 45 minutes was a scrappy affair. Both teams were similar in defense, in so, that when the other had the ball, it was closed down quickly, giving the other limited time to move the ball. But, instead of trying to use one and two touch to come out of tight situations, both sets of players would try to dribble. This made the game a dog fight from area to area, with no returns in either penalty box.

In the second half, the SKHY players adjusted their attacking mind set and began using one another with one touch and two touch combinations which brought them some rewards. Chances were created immediately, but were not accepted. Red Hill continued their utmost to come to terms with the quick decisive movement of the ball by SKHY, but it seemed difficult. Sometimes it looked as if they were chasing shadows. Chances continued to come SKHY way, but were totally wasted by all the attackers. At the end Red Hill finally had its first try on goal, but was kept at bay by a wonderful reflex save from Tarik, low at his first post. If that had gone in, SKHY would have been ruing all of its missed chances in this half.
