The wet season showed itself on Saturday night, as SKHY rained goals on Eastern Alliance on its home ground at Henry Street Trincity. SKHY with two more league matches to go in the Eastern Conference, maintained their lead at the top of the table with a commanding victory over Eastern Alliance FC. The ball started hitting the back of the net in the 5th minute, from a shot driven by Kerron Brache, into the far right hand post of the Alliance goalkeeper, from just outside the 18yd on Eastern Alliance’s left side. This came about from a well-timed overlapping run on the right side by Kerron, who received the assist from Kevaughn John. Goal #2 came in the 13th minute. This was unfortunate for Alliance, as the ball ricocheted off a defender, after Kevaughn slammed a shot which the goalkeeper could only parry against his player. The game was played at a fast pace as SKHY moved the ball quickly and efficiently and made the opposition work hard to try to gain possession. From this point SKHY had control of the match and it was no surprise when in the 15th minute goal #3 was scored. From a corner taken by Trent Cockburn, which was played to the far post, Shakir Cole headed back center to the top of the 6yd box, where Nicholas Yee Chan rose majestically above all and headed with confidence to the left of side of the Alliance custodian. Those first three goals were just the drizzle, more were to come.

Eastern Alliance had its first shot on target from a counter attack in the 18th minute, which had Tarik Hopkins in goal, diving to his left, bringing off a great save. This effort though, was just a bit of a respite, as SKHY struck again in the 21st minute. A wonderful piece of football that culminated with an overlap run from John Paul Timothy on the left side, who squared the ball back to the far post for Jovan Edwards to comfortably slot in. For good measure to add to the first half woes of the Alliance, Kevaughn notched another in the 35th minute, for SKHY to go into the half time break at 5-0.

Alliance started brightly in the second half notwithstanding the position of the game and got a freekick outside the 18yd on the right side. The ensuing kick forced Tarik to push over the bar. After that bit of possession for Alliance, most of the ball was with SKHY again and in the 50th minute Jovan notched his brace. A wonderful 40yd pass from Shakir to him on the right side and with composure he hit the net at the far post. In the 75th minute after SKHY’s three substitutes were already used, Tarik (goalkeeper) went to ground for a loose ball, an onrushing striker collided with him and unfortunately Tarik came off with a fractured tibia. Trent replaced him in goal. This did not deter SKHY, as a matter of fact this seemed to make the team more determined. In the 77th minute a free-kick was awarded to SKHY, which Kemo Toby struck low with left footed precision to the right of the keeper, GOAL. In the last 10 minutes the speed of Jermin Jeffers and Quinlan Fletcher, with the hardworking Kerron, who was pushed up top, gave the Alliance defenders no rest and they buckled. Jermin took the opportunity in the 85th minute to notch his first goal for SKHY. Final score SKHY FC 8 Eastern Alliance 0.
