Two More SKHY Players Attain Scholarships

Congratulations once again to two more SKHY FC young men who have acquired scholarships through football to further their education abroad, beginning in September. They are Stephan Spicer, formerly of Trinity College, Moka and Aaron Noel, formerly of St. Mary’s College. Both Stephan and Aaron have been dedicated to SKHY for a number of years and have travelled with the club and been exposed to tournaments such as the Dallas Cup, where they have been seen by many prospective Universities. Last year six of their colleagues from their batch were fortunate to receive similar scholarships; this year it’s their turn.

Stephan SpicerStephan left for Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday 19th August 2015 to attend Trinity Baptist College (TBC).  He is going as a student athlete for their soccer program. Stephan will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. TBC plays in the NCCAA Division II and had one of their best years in 2014.  TBC’s soccer program started in 2012 and they have improved each year.  Stephan joined the SKHY family in 2006 and continued to play up to this year with the SKHY Open team in the East Zone, for which he was selected since he was 16 years old, at the left back position.

Aaron played for St Mary’s College for four years, where he was also successful in obtaining his CXC and CAPE passes. He was snapped up by the University of the District of Columbia, Washington, which competes also in the NCAA Division II. Aaron joined SKHY from the age of five and as he says, will always be a member of SKHY. He has already played in a pre-season game for his new school in which he scored one and set up another. Aaron plays at forward or midfield.

Both Stephan and Aaron are very talented young men and once they keep their heads on their shoulders and stay focused, will do well in whatever field they choose. Gentlemen the ball is now in your court. Make your country, school and club proud.
