Joel is a former assistant coach of the Trinidad and Tobago National Women´s Football Team, from 1996-1998.

Joel´s coaching qualifications span two parts of the globe. He holds the Brazilian Advanced Coaching Certificate and the English Football Association (FA) Badge Qualification.
He was also Assistant Coach of Alcons Football Club in 1995 and Head Coach of Amalgamated House of Dread of Tunapuna in 1996.From 1993 to the present time, Joel has concentrated mainly on coaching. He was Head Coach of the Flipper Soccer Camp in Siparia, T&TEC Industrial League Team and Beneficial Football Club of D´Abadie. After leaving secondary school, he represented Maple, Sir Frank Worrell and Malta Carib Alcons Football Clubs between 1987 and 1993.
