Easter Tour - Kissimmee- Day 3 & 4

Wednesday 16th & Thursday 17th April, 2025

These were the first two days of competition for all the teams. Let’s deal with the players from SKHY who are participating as guests with other teams in the tournament. We have Amaya Thomas who is playing with Steel United U16, Akia Baptiste and Samantha De Freitas- Manswell with Iconz Elite U14 and Kristian Mc Clean with Renegades from Bahamas. Amaya’s team had a very tough game against Orlando Health where they came out on the losing end. On day two of competition all teams had two games. Her team played SWU APDL and Montverde Soccer Club. They won one and lost the other, but Amaya had creditable performances at left back in all the games. Amaya’s team are into the Silver Final on Friday at 9.00am.

Akia and Samantha’s team, Iconz Elite feared much better when they came out on top against Quebec City on the first day. On day 2, they played US Youth Soccer ODP National Select and New England Surf Select and sadly lost both games, but there's still hope for a medal. Their team, Iconz Experience, will play in the Silver Semi-Final on Friday evening at 6.50pm. They too put in good shifts at left back and left wing respectively.

Kristian’s Renegades bettered Diverse City FC in the U19 division on the first day. Kristian also had an assist for one of the goals. On the second day of competition Renegades playedFlorida Rush and Greater Boca YSA SFFA. They drew one and lost the other, but their record has placed them in the Silver Semi-Final, which will be played on April 18 at 10.30am. Kristian is a favourite with his team.

Our U17s competed against Greater Boca YSA SFFA Elite NAL the first day of competition and lost. Let the truth be told we were totally outclassed, but the boys never gave up and never stopped battling. On the second day we played Cape Coral Cyclone Boys RL and Four Corners FCFC. We lost both games, but these games were more competitive. Simple errors cost us in all the games. That is to say, we made it more difficult for ourselves by literally handing the opposition goals on a platter. Hopefully, all of the players have learnt from this experience. Tomorrow, April 18, the team plays in the bronze SemiFinal versus SABR Boca at 10.30am.
