Easter Tour - Kissimmee- Day 7

Sunday 20th April, 2025

Well the tour has come to an end. From listening to the players all their voices echoed the same sentiments that it was a great learning experience. Their eyes have been opened to the level of play that has to be reached in order to be able to compete against these foreign teams. Our hope is that everyone sticks to their word on what each one has to do in order to improve his/her standard of play. It is not going to happen overnight. Patience and hard work is the key.

We, the management and coaches at SKHY, are going to be here to guide each and everyone through the process. Not just those who participated in this tour, but all of our members from the youngest to the oldest.

The speed of the game has to be increased. Players have to be stronger and fitter. Technique has to be accomplished under pressure. Players have to discuss the game a lot more to have a better understanding of the game. The more you understand the game the easier playing it becomes. Intensity in training has to be at a higher level. On a scale of 1 - 5, with 5 being at the highest level of intensity, 5 must be achieved in training. One cannot expect to train at 3 and on game day expect to achieve a 5. If you train at 5, maybe on game day you may achieve a 5 and even if you drop off a bit you may still achieve a 4. If you train at 3 think about what you may achieve on game day.

Once again from our point of view the tour was a tremendous success in opening the minds of the children and letting them view what’s taking place outside of Trinbago in the footballing world. We at SKHY, send our thanks again to all who helped us along this journey, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, Trinidad Bottlers Limited, Bermudez Biscuits Company Limited and Coops Car Wash. Thank you, Thank you Thank You!
