On Sunday last, March 26, our (Defense Force) matches in the PFL youth division, U13, 15 and 17, were against Caledonia AIA. As usual, all games kicked off at 10.00am, 2.00pm and 4.00pm respectively. In the end we had two wins and one loss.
Our U13’s started their game with a bang scoring as early as the 4th minute and from there on it was a constant barrage on the Caledonia goal. At the end of the first half the score read 8-0 in our favour. On the resumption, it was more of the same with Caledonia’s goalkeeper doing his best to keep the score from reaching double figures, but with not much help from those in front of him. The final score read 13-0.
The U-15’s were similar in their assault of their age group’s goal as their younger counterparts. They also scored early and kept on pounding the opponents’ goal relentlessly. The final score in this encounter being 9-0. Goals being scored by Justin Araujo-Wilson, Marc Wharfe, Aiden Marcano and Nicholas Smith.
Our U17’s lost their encounter 6-2. The score line may have you believe that this was a one sided match. It was not. Simple errors by players cost the team at least three goals and a couple of chances that were muffed. Don’t get me wrong Caledonia was the better team and deserve to win this one. Our boys have to continue to work harder and believe in their abilities. It’s a squad with many new players and we have no doubt that results will begin to get better.
