Bluefield College's men's soccer team dropped its fourth straight match Saturday night 3-1 to Bryan College. The game was played at Rhea County High School, moved to the location from the Bryan campus as a result of weather conditions in Eastern Tennessee.

The Lions scored the game's first goal in the fourth minute and carried a 2-nil lead into the intermission. Bluefield's lone goal came in the 50th minute on a goal by Jan-Magnus Ahrens with the assist from Nikolai SolomonOscar Hernandez had seven saves in goal for the Rams. The Rams, now 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, return to action Wednesday at St.Andrews.

The visiting Terriers came in not only unbeaten, but they had allowed just a single goal in forging a 7-0-2 record through nine games. Indeed, St. Francis had posted four consecutive shutout wins since allowing their only goal in a 1-1 tie at Saint Peter's on September 12.

For its part, NJIT had struggled to score recently, staying off the board in three straight road games since tying Manhattan at home, 2-2, on September 20. Saturday's win lifted the Highlanders to 3-5-2 for the season.
Belmont came out of the gate in half two with some offense opportunities early on as Hyacenth added another shot on a header in the 49th but his attempt was off the mark to the left side. Hyacenth received the service from Matt Lopoyda (Niagara Falls, Ont., Can.) who connected with the sophomore striker off of a set piece. Hyacenth added a shot in the 85th but missed

RASHAD HYACENTH  - Belmont University

The Bruins battled with the Phoenix but were unable to overcome a two goal deficit at the half, despite tallying 11 shots including six on goal. The Phoenix struck twice in the first stanza and added some insurance in second to knock off the Bruins and win their second straight match.

After the early score, the Bruins responded with a sense of urgency and compiled many strong chances in the mid-to-late first half. Rashad Hyacenth (D'Abadie, Trinidad and Tobago) registered two shots on goal in the first half while AJ Arnold (Jackson, Miss.) and Joonas Bask (Espoo, Finland) each recorded shots on the GB keeper.
