SKHY FC Stay Top With Draw

Team togetherness - SKHT East FA Cup Champions

Yesterday, Saturday 10th, SKHY was invited to the home of Maloney FC. For all who thought this was going to be a walk in the park on a cloudy afternoon, it would soon be thrown out of their minds very quickly. SKHY began well, moving the ball adeptly and quickly, causing some problems for the Maloney defense. Maloney will have none of it, as they started closing the ball down quickly and were not afraid to implore some hefty tackles. This definitely worked to their advantage. SKHY still had the upper hand with territorial advantage, but on a couple of break-a-ways Maloney strikers had Tarik Hopkins, in goal for SKHY, getting down low to his right and left on separate occasions to make match saving interventions, in the first half. The game was tight.

In the second stanza, Maloney players seemed now to be getting into the minds of the opposition. Players could be seen talking back and forth. This also worked in favour of Maloney. Still SKHY had their chances and one was literally buried by Nicholas Yee Chan, coming in from the left hand side, he blasted home into the top left hand corner to give the keeper no chance. A brilliant effort. The banter continued back and forth. Play became erratic. During this period Maloney was awarded a penalty, which Tarik got his hand to, but could not keep out. A tough game which ended 1-1. A fair result.
