On Wednesday last, October 21, SKHY had a top of the table clash at home with FC Maloney. After a first round draw with Maloney, SKHY was ready to make amends. The game was the usual 7.00pm kick off and SKHY did what they do best, pressure from the start. This paid dividends, when in the 20th minute the talisman scored. Kevaughn John continuing his impressive form in front of goal. In the last couple of games, the SKHY philosophy of ball possession has really come to the forefront with more chances being created and the midfielders taking advantage of some of these opportunities. In the 34th minute, Trent Cockburn took one of these chances and finally opened his account. When the whistle blew to end the first half the score was 2-0.
Second half got on its way with Maloney raising the tempo of their game and carrying the fight to SKHY’s defense. This did not last too long, as SKHY again moved the ball impressively and at times seemed to have Maloney in sixes and sevens. Nicholas Yee Chan scored his item in the 70th minute after one of these well executed passing sequences. Maloney tried their best to rally, but SKHY’s defense of John Paul Timothy, Stephen Bernard, Peter Jeffrey and Kemo Toby who have only let in 3 goals all season, held firm once again. Rickson Hill, a freshman for SKHY, came on in the 80th minute and opened his SKHY account in the 89th minute, rubbing salt into the wounds of Maloney. Final score SKHY FC 4 FC Maloney 0. With this result SKHY has placed itself 5 points clear at the top of the standings.
